Panel Discussion on Women’s Safety Organised by Women’s Cell


The Women’s Cell of Karim City College, Jamshedpur organised a panel discussion on “Women’s Safety: Challenges, Rights and Collective Responsibility” with the objective of creating awareness about women’s safety, legal rights and the need for a supportive and gender-sensitive society.
The programme brought together students who raised vital issues for an engaging discussion on various dimensions of women’s safety in contemporary society. The panellists addressed issues such as gender-based violence, harassment, cyber safety, public-space security. The speakers were Saniya Akhtar, Rohit Sharma. Farheen, Afshan Bint Ishaque, Sartaj Fatima, Sania Siddiqua, and Zareen Abedi.
The discussion  highlighted the awareness of legal safeguards and institutional mechanisms  creating a society where women can live, study, work, travel, and express themselves with dignity, freedom and confidence. The coordinator of Women's Cell Dr Kauser Tasneem initiated the discussion by stressing the role of society in creating an environment based on equality, respect, dignity, and zero tolerance for harassment.Dr Anwar Shahab, PG Head of Political Science Department and in- charge of C.A and I.T department emphasised that ensuring women’s safety requires not only effective laws and their proper implementation but also greater social awareness. 
The Women’s Cell reiterated its commitment to organising awareness programmes and meaningful dialogues aimed at raising awareness about such issues.
