The tallest Tricolor of the world to be unfurled at Ranchi Pahadi on January 23 will be lifted atop the 81 meters tall flag pole on Friday night. Other preparations for the inauguration of the national flag by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar are also in their final stage.
Ranchi district administration and Pahari Mandir Vikas Samiti will also take out a carnival from Morhabadi Ground to MECON Stadium. Starting at 10:00 am with the replica of the 66 feet by 99 feet Tricolour, the procession will arrive at its destination via Ratu Road, Harmu Bypass and Argora Chowk.
The inauguration ceremony at Pahari Mandir, scheduled on the occasion of 119th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, will be accompanied by a main programme at Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Morhabadi, featuring patriotic performances from more than 10,000 school students in attendance of 20,000 spectators.
The performances at the football stadium will begin from 9:00 am, with the Defence Minister, Governor and Chief Minister expected to arrive at the venue by 10:30 am, where the performers will present a 70-minute show especially for the VIPs.
