The Opposition cornered the State Government in the House on Wednesday, and demanded that the civil services examinations results announced by JPSC on Sunday should be postponed till a decision comes from the Jharkhand high court in this regard.
The Opposition leaders raising their demands even protested outside the House with placards raising slogans against the Government. JVM’s Pradeep Yadav along with other leaders also moved an adjournment motion in this regard but was rejected by the Speaker.
Raising the issue, Opposition leader Hemant Soren said that it was a serious matter as the rights of the poor are being snatched from them and most of the candidates from a single coaching institute have cleared the examinations.
The House was calmed down only after Parliamentary Affairs Minister Saryu Roy agreed to the proposal made by JMM’s Stephen Marandi to discuss the matter in the Speaker’s chamber along with the leaders of all parties. The meeting, however, after a short discussion remained inconclusive, and was postponed till Thursday. JMM MLA Amit Mahto alleged heavy discrepancies in results announced by the JPSC in connivance with the State Government.
