Fearing involvement of other students in the murder of Principal Sahshi Bhushan Prasad Sinha, who was ruthlessly hacked to death in his chamber by one of his students on Wednesday, teachers in Gumla and Ranchi University have demanded CBI enquiry into the case.
Meanwhile, Gumla town remained closed on Thursday in protest of the cold-blooded murder of the Principal of Kartik Oraon College, with very few vehicles plying on roads.
“Looking at the circumstances under which the cold-blooded murder took place in the college campus, the matter must be investigated by an independent agency like CBI,” Professor Sudama Singh of KO College said. To show solidarity with Sinha, Ranchi University Constituent College Teachers Association (RUCCTA) along with the student unions, also organised a candle march from Ranchi University to Albert Ekka Chowk against the killing of college principal. RUCCTA has also demanded proper compensation for the family members and government job for dependents of Sinha.
Besides that, RUCCTA has also placed a set of demands before the University authorities to ensure security of college campus. “Firstly, CCTV cameras must be installed on the main entrance of all college campuses so that a close eye could be kept on everyone who enters into the college. Secondly, guards deputed inside the campus must be replaced with professional security guards hired from the security agencies as permanent ones have proved to be ineffective in checking the unwanted intruders into the campus,” said RUCCTA Vice President Harvinder Singh.
