Rail commuters would get a new regular train for Pune. Officials of Chakradharpur railway division informed that the Howrah-Pune Superfast AC Express ( 02221 / 02222) will continue to run for four more trips on every Saturday beginning November 28.
“We are really very happy with the overwhelming response from commuters and South Eastern Railway decided to continue the train for four more trips from November 28. We have information that the special train introduced during the Durga Puja to ease the rush of passengers will be regularised,” said O.P Sharma , station manager of Tatanagar.
Notably, the 17 coaches train ( 11- 3rd AC coaches, 4- 2nd AC coaches and two luggage vans) was introduced from October 17 between Howrah and Pune via Tatanagar to clear the festive rush of passengers.
According to Sharma, no changes have been made in the schedule. The Up train will leave Howrah at 6.15 pm and it will reach Tatanagar at 10 pm , a journey of 3 hours 45 minutes. After a five minutes halt the train will leave Tatanagar railway station for onward journey at 10.05 pm.
The return train will leave Pune on Monday at 10.30 am . The train will reach Tatanagar the next day ( Tuesday) at 2.15 pm. After a five minutes halt the train will leave Tatanagar at 2.20 pm. The train will reach Howrah at 6.15 pm on Tuesday.
