A hardcore rebel of People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) Sonu Kumar along with his associate Amit was arrested from the city-based Guru Nanak Hospital near Railway Station on Sunday. Kumar, according to sources, was suffering from malaria and was getting treated in the hospital for the last few days.
“Based on the information provided by Patna Anti-terrorist Squad (ATS), Ranchi police conducted a raid at Guru Nanak hospital and arrested Sonu Kumar who was getting treated in the hospital for the last few days along with one of his attendant,” said SP City Jaya Roy.
Sources however, revealed that Sonu was named in a Bahadurpur blast which took place at Bhootnath Road in Patna in March this year. Kumar was also said to be somehow connected with the recovery of huge cache of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from Patna in July this year. As the cache belonged to PLFI, Kumar was also suspected to be a PLFI member.
