The new Assembly building of Jharkhand will have a sitting capacity of 150 legislators with separate chamber for each of the Ministers in it. Chief Minister Raghubar Das, during a meeting regarding the new Assembly building, stressed on keeping a provision for a bigger house, keeping the increased strength of the house in future. “A consensus was reached during the meeting to start the construction work by October 2 after the approval of the design and structure of the new Assembly building,” said Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon.
Others who also attended the meeting include Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba, Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar and Managing Director of Greater Ranchi Development Area Sukdhdeo Singh along with the Assembly Speaker. The Speaker further revealed that three proposals regarding the new Assembly building were considered during the meeting. “Discussion regarding the three proposals took place for the new Assembly building, and after taking all aspects into consideration, one of the designs was approved during the meeting today,” the Speaker added.
