Urban Development Minister CP Singh on Friday broke into tears while refuting the charges of owning “huge properties” in various States, leveled by the JMM.
“It was an attempt to malign my clean image as a social servant. Within the next one or two days, I am going to file a defamation suit against JMM MLA Kunal Sarangi and the party spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya, who have alleged that I owned huge properties worth crores in Puri, Kolkata and Gurgaon,” said Singh, who had undergone a major heart surgery recently.
Addressing the media persons at his official residence, he claimed that he did not own any property in this universe, except in Ranchi and Palamu. The Minister became emotional while speaking following which he took a pause of few minutes to regain the momentum to speak.
Sarangi, on Thursday, had demanded resignation from Singh as well as the Housing Board Managing Director Dilip Kumar Jha, for allegedly getting a land plot allotted by Jharkhand State Housing Board hiding the facts. Singh also happens to the Housing Minister.
