Huge cache of explosives has been unearthed three kilometer south west of Mundar under Garu in Latehar district, said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Palamu Saket Kumar Singh.
A joint team of CoBRA, Jharkhand Jaguar (JJ), CRPF, small contingent of Gumla police & Latehar police led by CoBRA officials and additional SPs of Gumla and Latehar seized a total of 37 improvised explosive devices commonly known as land mines, added DIG Saket. The elite force CoBRA pressed in its two teams.
Singh said among the 37 IEDs there were 14 pressurecooker stuffed with explosives. There were three 9 Kg capacity cylinder bombs and four 3 Kg capacity cylinder bombs. The number of recovered can bombs is 16. Apart from this 22 country made grenades were also seized. DIG informed all these deadly devices including 37 IEDs and 22 country made grenades were neutralised on the spot by the bomb disposal squad of Jharkhand Jaguar.
Palamu DIG was all praise for Gumla SP Bhim Sen Tuti who not only collected the precise input but shared it most intelligently with the Latehar police and that led to the haul of 37 IEDs and 22 hand made grenades.
