The Jharkhand HC on Wednesday asked the Government what immediate steps have been taken so far to ensure continuous supply of water to Ranchi residents. While hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) related to decreasing water level in reservoirs near Ranchi, a division bench of Chief Justice Virender Singh and Justice PP Bhatt asked Principal Secretary of Water Resource department to file a detailed report on the current figure of availability related to the supply of water.
In its report, the Principal Secretary also has to submit what steps have been taken or to be taken for the purposes of preservation of water. Lastly, the state has also been asked to tell what steps it intends to take as long term strategy in regard to the above mentioned. The matter will be taken next after one month.
