Hazaribagh police have unearthed a gang involved in several cybercrimes and cyber frauds in Jharkhand and Bihar. Police has also nabbed five members of this gang and has recovered one laptop, six mobiles, four smartphones, 56 sim cards, some aadhar cards and pan cards from them. It was informed by SP Akhilesh Jha in a press conference held on Friday evening in his office chamber.
Jha said that the members of the gang belonged to Santhal Pargana division of the State and arrests have been made from Ghormara Deoghar and Saraiyahat Dumka. The arrested criminals are Dinesh Mondal, Gautam Mondal, Rakesh, Ranjeet and Amarnath Chaudhary. The kingpin of this gang Ganesh Mondal and his allies Mukesh Mondal, Bhanu Mondal, Rahul Mondal and Kundan Mondal succeeded to escape but soon they will also be behind the bars, added SP Jha. The modus operandi of this gang was old and familiar to almost all conscious customers of the banks. They were running a call center in Deoghar and Dumka from where the members use to call the bank customers. During conversation they use to take the pin number and other details of their bank account and ATM card. With the help of these information they use to transfer amount to online marketing companies and to other such cyber facility providing agencies.
