Hazaribagh police finally arrested ex-minister Yogendra Sao late last night from Rangoli Hotel near Piska more in Ranchi.
Yogendra Sao is the main accused of the incident of clash between police and public near NTPCs R&R colony site, Dhenga, Barkagaon which took place on 14th of August. Sao was absconding since last one week.
After getting his arrest warrant from the court, Hazaribagh police was trying to nab him.
On Thursday late evening, when a close person of the former minister informed police about the place of his hideout, a team of police officials constituted by SP Akhilesh Jha immediately rushed to Ranchi.
After nabbing the minister from the hotel room, the team came back to Hazaribagh late last night and kept Sao in the lock up room of Hazaribagh Sadar police station.
In the morning police produced him in the court of first class judicial magistrate Richa Srivastava. From where, he was sent to central jail in judicial custody.
Now he will be produced before the court on 29th of August along with other accused of this case arrested earlier and are in jail on 14 days judicial custody.
Meanwhile in court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Hazaribagh the anticipatory bail petition of his wife MLA Nirmala Devi was heard. After arguments of both sides the court ordered to submit the case diary.
The advocates of Nirmala Devi argued that the monsoon session of Jharkhand Assembly is starting from today so her client who represents lakhs of people of a constituency should be given opportunity to participate in the session.
They prayed to pass an order of no arrest till Assembly Session, but the court finally fixed the date of 4th September to hear again on her petition.
SP Akhilesh Jha said that on Wednesday they got arrest warrant from the court and on Thursday night they nabbed Yogendra Sao.
Another main accused of this case Barkagaon legislator Nirmla Devi has not been arrested yet and they are trying our to nab her also, he added.
So far Hazaribagh police has arrested 12 persons in this case and sent them to jail.
67 persons are the named accused in the FIR lodged in Barkagaon police station on the statement of Hazaribagh Sub-Divisional Magistrate Anuj Kumar Prasad and search operation is going on to nab others also.
