: Deoghar district was formed after the reconstituion of Santhal Paragnas. Besides Doeghar the other towns in the district are Jasidih and Madhupur. The district has seven blocks - Deoghar, Karon, Madhupur, Mohanpur, Palojori, Sarath and
Sarwan.

Industry
: A pharmaceutical unit in Deoghar, a silicate factory in Madhupur and the Railway Wagon factory in Jasidih are the only industrial units that can be talked of in the district. Coal is found in good quantity.
