Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba has given time to the promoter of the mega food park under construction near Ranchi till July 31 to complete its work. He said this while reviewing progress made in the mega food park and other areas where lots of scope for food processing is available. The CS at the same time also directed officials of Industry Department to prepare plans so that investors willing to setup food processing plants in the State can be attracted.
At present 24 food processing projects are continuing in the State including of rice, flour, milk products, snacks and bakery. Industry Secretary Himani Pandey presented a proposal for Jharkhand Food Processing Industry Policy which would specifically promote the industry in the State. Development Commissioner RS Poddar, Finance Secretary Amit Khare, Rural Development Secretary NN Sinha were present in the meeting.
