Chief Minister Raghubar Das has assured of safe return of 38 labourers belonging to Bagodar trapped in Malaysia. The Government has swung into action after the incident came into light and approached the Centre on the issue on Tuesday.
CM’s Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar has established contacts with the External Affairs Ministry in Delhi and approached the Joint Secretary looking after Malaysian issues. A letter in this regard has also been sent from the CMO to the Ministry.
“The Ministry had responded and assured all help in safe release of the labourers stuck in Malaysia. Government would be apprised through consulate office to ensure safe release of the migrants,” said a senior official.
Reportedly the migrant labourers of Jharkhand were taken to Malaysia for employing them into a transmission line company about six months ago. They have not been paid and even their passports were held by the company preventing them to return.
