Chief Minister Raghubar Das on the occasion of Hul Diwas on Tuesday announced new scheme meant for overall development of tribal population of the State. He also okayed the proposal to give historic village Gando as block.Speaking at the closing ceremony of a sports event organised at Gando village, 15 kilometers from Dumka, the CM also called for development and not politics in the name of it. “The State is desperate for development and looking for Hul for it. Here Ulgulan (uprising) of good governance would take place that would not allow divisive and cheap politics anymore,” said Das and assured that lost glory of the village connected with Hul or rebellion against British rule and led by Sido Khanhu would be restored.
The CM said that the tribal village would be covered by host of schemes meant for health, welfare, education and irrigation. Traditional gram pradhan would frame the schemes for the development of the village. He also announced series of measures to be taken for Bhognadih of Sahibgunj, the village of Hul heros Sido and Kanhu. DC has been ordered to construct 14 houses for the families of the tribal martyrs. “The Government has adopted the village for its all round development. We have also decided to adopt villages of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and of our cultural heritage Dr Ram Dayal Munda,” said the CM.On the occasion, Labour and Employment Minister Raj Paliwar was also present who said that the Government had decided to raise minimum wages.Social Welfare Minister Louis Marandi put forth several demands for the village. Borio MLA Tala Marandi and senior officials of district administration were also present.
