After an inordinate delay and stalemate, the Government has finally allotted land for setting up Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Ranchi.
The Cabinet on Tuesday approved land for the purpose at Sanga village of Kanke block that comprises Government as well as raiyati in nature.
“The Cabinet has decided to allot 52.24 acres of land for building IIIT at Sanga of Kanke block in Ranchi. The institution would be built on PPP mode comprising the Central Government, State Government and private industry partners on 50:35:15 ratio. Another 14.40 acre of raiyati land has been transferred to the Information Technology Department and for that cost has been given to the Ranchi DC,” said NN Pandey, Additional Chief Secretary after the Cabinet meeting.
