Union Coal and energy Minister Piyush Goyal today said that that on the request of CM raghubar Das Central Government has decided that 85 per cent of the electricity produced by the joint venture firm at Patratu would be given to Jharkhand only. Necessary changes need to be done in the rule for the purpose to supply 24 hour electricity to people of Jharkhand on cheap rates, he said.
Goyal today took stock of the working of coal undertakings in the State and met CM Raghubar Das to discuss progress of work related to the Coal and Energy departments. He also praised the government for its work and said that Jharkhand was the first State that has completed the process of entering the ambitious UDAY scheme of the Central Government for power sector reforms. An MoU regarding the same would be signed in the next week, he added.
