Ranchi police arrested eight members of extremist outfit People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), one of them a minor, from Sithio under Dhurwa police station on Monday, preventing a major criminal incident. Two country-made pistols, four live rounds and mobile phones were seized from their possession.
A team under Superintendent of Police (City) Jaya Roy arrived at Sithio after receiving a tip that 10 to 12 armed PLFI cadres are planning to kill some of their targets and strengthening the outfit’s foothold. Azim Habbari, Sanaullah, Sudarshan Gope, Shahnawaj nsari, Shahwaj Ansari, Anup Horo,Abdul Kaddus and one underage PLFI cadres were arrested in the operation. Four of them managed to flee. Search operations are being conducted in the area to find them.
