Amid speculations on the name of new Chief Secretary of the State, the Jharkhand Government on Monday transferred nine IAS officers; six of them have been made Deputy Commissioners. Excise Commissioner, Jharkhand Satyender Singh, has been given the newly created post of Planning cum Finance Secretary (Expenditure).
DC Palamu, K Sriniwasan, has been made new DC of Seraikela-Kharsawan, while DDC Bokaro, Arvind Kumar, has been transferred and posted as DC, Godda. DC Seraikela-Kharsawan Chandrashekhar has been made DC of Khunti district, while DC Godda Harsh Mangala has been made Joint Secretary in the Welfare department.
MD of JUSNL, Ameet Kumar has been made the new DC of Palamu and DC, Khunti, Waghmare Prasad Krishna has been made Director Tourism. DC of Lohardaga Manju Nath Bhajantri has been made MD of JUSNL, while Joint Secretary in the CS office Bhuvanesh Prasad Singh has been made the new DC of Lohardaga.
Meanwhile, highly placed sources said that two senior IAS officers will soon be promoted to Chief Secretary rank. Approval has been given to the promotion of Principal Secretary, Finance Amit Khare, a 1985 batch IAS officer and RK Srivastava, a 1984 batch IAS officer to the CS rank with effect from April 1, said sources. The two posts in the CS rank will be vacant after Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba leaves for Central deputation and Sajal Chakraverty retires on March 31.
Sources in the government revealed that the names of Additional CS, Road Construction Department, Rajbala Verma and Principal Secretary, Finance Amit Khare were doing rounds for the post of CS. However, the name of 1984 batch IAS Officer UP Singh holding the post of Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, has also come to the fore for the post. Although the administrative circle was abuzz with speculative suggestions, sources in the CMO said that the decision would take another couple of days. CM Raghubar Das is also tight-lipped on the issue.
